Southwestern Middle School officials recently honored the school’s Students of the Month for October. They are:
– Casper Macdonald, sixth grade and the son of Polly Hampton and Kenneth Macdonald. His favorite subjects in school are science and band. Casper plays in the middle school band and choir. Outside of school, he is a member of the board game club, takes piano lessons, and plays tennis at the YMCA. One fun fact about him is he was born in Oregon.
– Roger Hamilton, seventh grade and the son of Raymond Hamilton and Samantha Phillips. Roger’s favorite subjects in school are math, art, and gym. He is on the Southwestern modified football team and the modified wrestling team. When Roger is not in school, he enjoys building with Legos, playing video games, and hanging out with his family. One fun fact about him is that he likes to work out.
Melody Yocum, eighth grade and the daughter of Keith and Susan Yocum. Her favorite subjects in school are ELA and gym. Melody plans to join the Southwestern track and field team in the future. She participates in student council, crochet club, and ASL club. Outside of school, Melody is on the Dancing with Victoria dance team and also helps at Hillcrest Baptist Church. When she is not at school, she likes to practice her clarinet, ride her bike, dance, and crochet. One fun fact about Melody is that she has four dogs (two boxers, a husky, and a pitbull retriever mix) and she has been to Alaska two times on a mission trip with her church.
