Frewsburg School Board To Hold Special Meeting Today

The Frewsburg Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. today, Sept. 26, in the middle-high school library. Polly Hanson, board vice president, will preside over the meeting, Michael LeBaron, board president, will be absent. It is anticipated the board will enter into executive session. It is anticipated that there will be action taken following an executive session.

Flowers Must Be Removed By Wednesday

The Sunset Hill Cemetery Association is in the midst of its fall cleanup. Those who want to keep their flowers must remove them by Wednesday, Oct. 1. Any remaining flowers will be disposed of by the maintenance department.

MAYVILLE – The CHQ Professionals Group will host a coffee meetup at Tulip’s Brunch House, 186 S. Erie St., Mayville, on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. There is no registration required and any and all professionals working in the Chautauqua region are invited to attend.

Hazeltine Library To Host Author Paul Leone

BUSTI – The Hazeltine Public Library will welcome Paul Leone as the Monday, Sept. 29, author for its author series. Leone is a local author who has written for more than 25 years. His stories draw on local history to describe the particular ambiance of our area. He used the Tall Tale genre for his satirical novel The Gospel Truth, set in the town of Busti. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Building at the rear of the library and is open to the public. The author series is free and continues Oct. 6 with Jason Bussman. More information is available by calling the library at 716-487-1281. The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road. There is off-street parking and the Community Building is handicapped-accessible.

Celoron Village Board To Host Cannabis

Hearing Monday

CELORON – The Celoron Village Board has scheduled a public meeting for Monday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Center, 47 Dunham Ave., Celoron, to seek input from residents on a proposal to opt-in to the sale and/or consumption of cannabis (marijuana) in the village and input on what type of businesses they would like to see in the re-development of the former Chautauqua Lake Auto property on Boulevard Avenue. All persons are encouraged to attend and express their opinions.
