Jerry Charles Minchener

Jerry Charles Minchener, 82, of Jamestown, New York, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025 in Saint Petersburg, FL.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran and a dedicated retired machinist, Jerry devoted his life to hard work and service. Over the years, his excellence and commitment earned him numerous awards and recognitions in his field. Outside of work, Jerry found great joy in life’s simple pleasures–he had a deep appreciation for food, a love of classic westerns, and a lifelong passion for cars and auto racing.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Jane (Lavalley) Minchener; his children, Cherie Harris of Atlanta, GA, Rebecca Greiner of Erie, PA, and Derek Minchener of Boston, MA; and two grandchildren, Alex Greiner of Indiana and Hunter Greiner of Erie, PA.

He is also survived by his siblings: Jeffrey Minchener of Indian Land, SC; Jacqueline Coan of Charlotte, NC; Judy Denison of Orchard Park, NY; James (and Sue Granton) Minchener of Calabash, NC; and John (and John Griffin Jr.) Minchener of Charlotte, NC.

His memory will be carried forward in different ways by those who knew him.
