Three Arrested After Recent Drug, Weapon Raids

Search warrants executed recently in Jamestown have resulted in drug and weapons charges against three area men.

On April 10 at 1 p.m. members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 25 Hazzard St., Apt. 3, with

assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team.

Luis M. Torres Cortes and two children were located inside of the residence by the SWAT Team. After the residence was secured, detectives searched the residence and located 15.9 grams of fentanyl, $255.00 in US Currency, scales, cutting agents, and packaging materials used for the distribution of narcotics. Luis M. Torres Cortes, 39, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Chautauqua County Emergency Services Tac Meds, and Jamestown Fire Department.

At 12:10 p.m. April 9, members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 76 Victoria Ave. with assistance from the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team. After the residence was secured, detectives searched the residence and located a .30 caliber rifle, switchblade knife, metal knuckles, high capacity magazine and a quantity of ammunition. Hitchcock and Hallett were placed under arrest and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Michael E. Hitchcock, 44, of Jamestown, and Robert A. Hallett, 38, of Falconer were charged with Hitchcock is charged with one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police report Hallett was wanted out of the town of Dunkirk and turned over to them. Hitchock was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail but has since been released on bail. Hitchock was the target of a previous search warrant where multiple long guns, handguns, and narcotics were seized.
