A closed golf course in the town of Chautauqua has been resold for more than double its last sale price a year ago.

The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from July 21-31.

During this time period, Chautauqua Lake Development LLC of Springville sold 5621, 5687, 5710 East Lake Road, Chautauqua town to 1200 Group, LLC of Buffalo for $2.2 million. That is the address of Chautauqua Point Golf Course, which has been closed for the last two seasons.

In February, 2022 Camelot Golf, Inc. of Mayville sold the former golf course to Chautauqua Lake Development, LLC for $1,010,000.

The new owner has purchased other nearby properties as well. During this time period, the James K. Webb Living Trust sold property on East Lake Road, Chautauqua town to 1200 Group LLC of Buffalo for $200,000.

Also, Webb’s Harbor Restaurant and Bowling Lanes, Inc. sold 5695 East Lake Road, Chautauqua town to 1200 Group LLC of Buffalo for $200,000.

The golf course remains closed and no new development has occurred on the property.

There were other commercial sales as well.

102 East Main St., Falconer to Mission Hearing, LLC of Jamestown for $145,000. There are signs on the building for The Hearing Place and other signs that say “coming soon.”

279 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk was sold to Nas Capital Development, LLC of Dunkirk for $179,000.

Chautauqua Inns, LTD of Mayville sold property on Jefferson and North Portage streets, Westfield to Mazza Chautauqua Cellars, LLC of North East, Pa. for $90,000. An email sent to the company was not returned.

There was a private residence sale that topped $1 million. The property at 4365 Lakeside Drive, Ellery sold for $1,850,000. Realtor.com describes it as a 4-bedroom, 3,444 square foot home on a 0.83 acre lot.

From July 21-31, including the sales previously mentioned, there were 11 sales that were $250,000 or higher. The other top sales were as follows:

– 4406 W. Lake Road #28, Chautauqua town sold for $355,000.

– 7086 Nelson Road, Charlotte sold for $335,000.

– 13 Merz Ave., Bemus Point sold for $327,900.

– 4 Dana Place, Silver Creek sold for $290,000.

– Condominium Unit No. G-9, Chautauqua Lake Estates, Chautauqua town sold for $285,000.

– 3305 New Road, Sheridan sold for $284,900.

– 5337 Ply Hill Road, North Harmony sold for $275,000.

– 5078 Spooner Road, Harmony sold for $271,000.

– 2258 Shadyside Road, Mina sold for $270,000.
