FORESTVILLE — Alexys Neckers scored 7 of her game-high 20 points during a 17-0 first quarter as Clymer opened its season with a 40-22 nonleague victory over Forestville.

Ava Nyweide and Elli Bodamer each added 4 points during the first-quarter shutout for the Pirates (1-0). Bodamer finished with 10 rebounds and Neckers had seven.

Carilene Sliwa led Forestville (0-2) with 15 points and six steals, while Ava Emke had five steals.

CARDS FALL; MORRISON HURT

RANDOLPH — St. Mary’s of Lancaster led 17-7 after the first quarter and put the game away with a 21-4 third quarter en route to a 65-42 nonleague win over Randolph.

Emily McDonald led the Lancers with 24 points and Jada Mushat added 19.

Skylar Herington led the Cardinals (1-2) with 19 points; Quinn Pence had 11 points and 12 rebounds; and Zoey Dickerson had eight rebounds and three steals.

Randolph junior Payton Morrison left early in the first quarter with a knee injury and did not return.

CATTARAUGUS — Khloe Karnes had 13 points, nine steals and three assists to lead Silver Creek past nonleague Cattaraugus-Little Valley 40-15.

Grace Stevens added 7 points, nine rebounds and five steals, while Maddy Blair had 6 points and seven rebounds for the Black Knights (2-0), who led 23-10 at halftime before a 9-1 third quarter put the game away.

SHERMAN STYMIES FALCONER

SHERMAN — Teagan Gratto had 7 points, nine steals and four assists to lead Sherman past Falconer 42-13 in nonleague action.

Tayden Persons added 7 points and nine rebounds, while Emmersen Crawford had five steals and 4 points.

Falconer was led by Augustine Krenzer with 6 points.

FREDONIA TOPS COUGARS

WESTFIELD — Piper Walnicki, Jordan Lucas and Ella Koopman all scored in double figures for Fredonia as the Hillbillies beat Cassadaga Valley 59-46 in the opening game of the Westfield Tournament on Friday.

Walnicki finished with 14 points and four assists; Lucas had 13 points and eight rebounds; and Koopman had 12 points, three rebounds and two assists for Fredonia, which led 40-32 after three quarters before a 19-point fourth quarter. Alana Holt also grabbed eight rebounds in the win.

Emiley Anderson led the Cougars with 20 points and Andrea Johnson added 15.
