Election Results – 9:58 p.m.: Ecklund Wins Mayor’s Race; GOP To Control City Council

With all of Jamestown districts reporting, it appears Kim Ecklund has defeated incumbent Mayor Eddie Sundquist, 2,413 to 2,204.

Results haven’t been certified by the Board of Elections.

Republicans have swept the City Council’s at-large seats with newcomer Russell Bonfiglio joining incumbents Jeff Russell and Randall Daversa on the council.

The Ward 4 seat on the City Council will change hands with Republican challenger Joseph Paterniti defeating Marie Carrubba, 49.8% to 46.8%. In Ward 3, incumbent Democrat Regina Brackman has defeated challenger Robert Reedy, 52% to 42%. Brent Sheldon has defeated Ward 1 challenger Travis Knight, 393 to 324, with all districts reporting.

Incumbent Republican council members William Reynolds in Ward 5 and Andrew Faulkner in Ward 6 have also won re-election.

In the town of Ellicott, with eight of 11 districts reporting, incumbent town supervisor Janet Bowman holds a 679-595 vote lead over challenger Todd Beckerink. Amy Bellardo, incumbent town clerk, appears likely to remain clerk with a 61% to 36% lead over challenger Adrienne Swanson. Incumbent Town Board members Robert White and Kenneth Swan also lead.
