Mr. And Mrs. Steven Downs

Alisen Jene Hazeltine and Steven James Downs were united in holy matrimony with the exchanging of wedding vows on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Lake Chautauqua Lutheran Center in Bemus Point, N.Y.

The bride is the daughter of Troy and Marilee Hazeltine of Sugar Grove, maternal granddaughter of the late Martin and Janet Smith of Youngsville, and paternal granddaughter of Joan Hazeltine and late husband, Raymond Hazeltine of Lottsville. The groom is the son of John and Katherine Downs of Russell, maternal grandson of James and Peggy McCauley of Warren, and paternal grandson of the late Jack and Marilyn Downs of Russell.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Troy. The bride wore an ivory, A-line Allure gown with romantic lace leaves and flowers, illusion sleeves and bodice, with a stunning cathedral veil. Pastor Rick Hamrick of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church performed the ceremony.

Maid of Honor Carly Martone was attended by bridesmaids Mallory Trumbull (cousin of the bride), Shannon Samuelson, Chase Sapp, Andrea Gunnell, and Sierrah Rounds. Best man Jacob Hamilton was attended by groomsmen Andrew Downs (brother of the groom), Derek Lasecki, Grey Tucker, Caleb Johnson, and Robbie Lingenfelter.

An indoor reception followed the ceremony, decorated with twinkling lights, floating candles, autumn colors, and a wood fire place, all overlooking Chautauqua Lake. The evening was full of merriment and dancing, and ended with a sparkler sendoff as the bride and groom left on their Hawaiian honeymoon.

The bride received a bachelor of science degree from Slippery Rock University in 2020 and is a contractor with the U.S. Forest Service. The groom is a 2022 graduate of Jamestown Community College and works at Barton Tool in Falconer, N.Y.

The couple currently resides in Russell, Pa.
