“We recognized a need within our community to help families struggling to provide Christmas presents for their children this holiday season,” said Nicole Seeley of Fight for Seeley. “In the spirit of giving and helping hundreds of children in need, it was important that we help an organization whose donations benefit our community directly. All donations stay in our area, and that was very important to us. We wanted a way to help several families this holiday season, and Toys For Tots was the perfect fit for us. Toys For Tots has several drop boxes in the area, additionally they have pop up collection sites as well as accepting monetary donations to fill the gaps where extra toys are needed. For more information on Toys For Tots and to get an application for your family, visit their Facebook page or their website for additional information.”
Fight For Seeley is a non-profit organization established when Michael Seeley, a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputy, volunteer firefighter, and EMT was diagnosed with an aggressive form of acute myeloid leukemia in 2017. Seeley passed away Feb. 9, 2018. In an effort to continue to give back to the community after so much was done for him and his family during his illness, Fight For Seeley has continued to hold annual events to raise money for the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, where a scholarship fund was established in Seeley’s memory. Fight for Seeley also raises money for community organizations and those who need help financially due to illness and loss as well as collaborating with other organizations to help them raise money for their causes as well.
