Vitello, Whitermore Shoot 60, Take Lead

ELLICOTTVILLE — Joe Vitello and Colin Whitermore were the headliners Friday at Holiday Valley Resort.

The duo combined to shoot a net best-ball 60 for the top score of the day and are now the leaders heading into the final round of the 51st Italian-American Charity Golf Tournament.

Combined with the 63 they shot in the first round, Vitello and Whitermore stand at 123 for the tournament, one shot ahead of first-day leaders Mike Schifano and Alex Johnson, who are playing out of the First Flight.

Tied in second place are the teams of Zach Panebbianco and Matt Hoaglund, and John Foti and Dan Cotter at 128. The winner and runners-up can come out of any flight.

David Munella and Dave Currie lead the Second Flight with a 129; Foti and Cotter sit atop the Third Flight; Jordan Coccagnia and Kyle Rensel, and Nick Yachetta and Bruce Johnson are tied with a 132 in the Fourth Flight; Dennis Palermo and Bernie Auer lead the Fifth Flight with a 132; Anthony Vitello and John Deppas set the pace in the Sixth Flight with a 130; and Jim Panebianco and Tom Sedorchuk are the leaders in the Seventh Flight with a 139.
