Roger D. Sadowski Sr.

Roger D. Sadowski Sr., 83, of Kennedy, passed away Monday July 5, 2021 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
He was born Dec. 21, 1937, in Jamestown, the son of Eric and Francis Simmons Sadowski.
In earlier years, he had been employed as parts manager for McFadden Ford and later retired as highway superintendent for the town of Poland.
Roger was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg and Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion in Frewsburg.
He was a very social man and loved being around his family and friends.
In younger years, he enjoyed dirt track racing and later in life he did farming and loved spending time at Camp Connie and restoring antique cars.
Roger is survived by his wife, Sandra Lindstrom Sadowski, whom he married Sept. 27, 1958; five children: Duane (LeeAnne) Sadowski, of Kennedy, Scott (Julie) Sadowski of Kennedy, Gary (Debbie) Sadowski of Frewsburg, David (Jennifer) Sadowski of Pittsburgh, and Erica (Dave) Lobb of Kennedy; 13 grandchildren: Ryan, Sara, Jenna, Leah, Aaron, Corey, Eric, Lydia, Adam, Ashton, Caylee, Alyssa, and Brayden; 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roger is predeceased by his granddaughter, Abbey Rose Sadowski; a brother, Gene Sadowski; a sister, Janet Sadowski; and a niece, Cindy Sadowski.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg. The Rev. Phil Roushey, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
