Donald L. “Don” Franklin Sr., 92, formerly of Stockton, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021m in Florida. He was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Lake-wood, a son of the late Ed-ward and Gladys Lent Franklin. He was an alumni of Cassadaga Valley Central School. Don was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the U.S. Army.

He was employed by Chautauqua County Sanitation Department working out of the Sherman and Fredonia facilities.

Don was an exempt member of the Stockton Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, was a Bills and NASCAR fan, following Matt Kenseth.

Husband of 45 years to the late Sharon Kelly Franklin, whom he married June 29, 1963m and who died June 15, 2008; father of Ernest (Tracy) and Dustin (Georgia), all of Fostoria, Ohio, and the late Donald L. Franklin, Jr.; grandfather of 18, including the late Joshua Franklin; great-grandfather of 23 and one great-great-grand- daughter. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister and is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the Stockton Firemen’s Fraternity grounds in the Belsay Building.
