Cemetery Assn. To Meet Thurs.
GERRY — The Gerry Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Gerry Town Park, pavilion 2, Route 60 Gerry.
Thrift Shop Holds Clothing Sale
St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, is well-stocked with spring clothing for men, women and children, and now has a new large amount of household items suitable for gifts. The shop is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Receiving will be held only on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. At this time, enter on Pine Street. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Face covering, hand sanitizing, and contact tracing signing is required for entrance. Proceeds from sales are used locally.
Auxiliary To Meet On Wednesday
KIANTONE — The Kiantone Fire Department Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The group will be discussing the upcoming Mother’s Day brunch. New members are welcome to join.
Tops OK As Drug Drop-Off Sites
Tops Markets locations at 3955 Vineyard Drive, Dunkirk, and 2000 Washington St., Jamestown, continue to serve as approved drop-off locations for prescription drugs. Shoppers can find clearly designated disposal bins located in the Tops pharmacy department where they can dispose of their unused and unwanted medications. “Tops is pleased to be able to offer this added convenience to the community not only on April 24th, but year round,” said Matthew Hamed, director of pharmacy operations for Tops Friendly Markets. “We want to help be a part of the solution. Proper disposal of unused, unwanted and/or expired prescription medications helps not only protect our environment, but more importantly saves lives.”
Randolph School Board To Meet
RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School Board will hold a public budget hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, in the high school library. A board meeting will follow the hearing. Those who wish to attend are asked to contact Maureen Pitts, district clerk, at 358-7005 or mpitts@randolphcsd.org to make arrangements by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
Quilters Guild Convenes Sat.
WESTFIELD — The Westfield Quilters Guild will meet Saturday at the Westfield YWCA for its monthly meeting and project program. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. with the three placemat tote bag program after lunch. Those attending can bring a drink and sack lunch. Social distancing and masks are required.
Marvin House Offers Takeouts
The Marvin House in Jamestown is offering take-out meals Thursday between 3-4 p.m. that will include tossed salad, sweet and sour meatloaf, cheesy potatoes, glazed carrots and pineapple upside cake. Meals will be available between 3-4 p.m. Reservations can be made by sending an email to marvinhouse@netsync.net or calling 488-6206. The cost is $17 for members and $20 for non-members.
