Douglas Babo

Douglas Babo, 65, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020.

He grew up in Ripley, N.Y., enjoyed playing base-ball and still holds the state record for most pitching wins in a season. He was competitive, but was al-ways a good sport. His spirit for adventure and willingness to serve led him to serve with distinction in the United States Air Force, and is also where he met the love of his life. He served his community sup-porting and volunteering for many projects that benefitted his town. He served on the Town Council and pioneered programs that lifted the lives of countless children and families. He was a faithful member and elder of his church. He is preceded in death by his brother, Kevin, his mother, Marjorie and father Donald. He is loved and sorely missed by his wife of 41 years, Kathy, their children, Christopher (and Becky), Heather (and Dale), Jason (and Kelli), his twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his sister Joyce (and Harold), brothers Mark (and Doreen), and Jim (and Chris) and many other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held in the summer when it is safe for his loved ones to gather and celebrate his life. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Erie, 4261, 1600 Peninsula Drive, Suite 15, Erie, PA 16505. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.

Starting at $4.00/week.
