A tornado watch remains in effect for all of Western New York until 9 p.m. tonight, the National Weather Service announced.

The watch covers 16 counties, including Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany and Erie. The alert also includes areas in central New York.

A watch means conditions are favorable for a tornado.
