SHERMAN -- Clymer/Sherman/Panama held Cleveland Hill to just 94 yards of offense and rolled to a 43-0 shutout in a Section VI Class C quarterfinal Saturday at Harry W. Brosius Field.
The Wolfpack ran for 192 yards and threw for 154 in the game. They led 24-0 after the first quarter and added 19 more points in the second quarter.
"Once again the guys came out ready to play," Clymer/Sherman/Panama head coach Dave Bodamer said. "We got a three-and-out on defense and then scored on our first drive. ... That is how the first half basically went."
Gavin Burchanowski ran for a 35-yard touchdown, Blake Beckerink ran for a 1-yard score and Johnny Abers caught an 11-yard touchdown from Burchanowski in the first quarter.
Talon Persons added an 80-yard touchdown catch before Burchanowski ran for touchdowns of 5 and 17 yards in the second quarter.
"The goal today was to get the opportunity to play at least one more game and they did a great job," Bodamer said. "We were able to get everyone some good playing time, which is exciting because so many guys, including young guys, put some good things on film."
Burchanowski led the Wolfpack with 86 yards rushing and was 6 of 7 for 154 yards through the air. Beckerink ran for 53 yards while Hayden Sexton caught two passes for 45 yards.
The Wolfpack, Class C South's No. 2 seed, will travel to Barker to take on Class C North No. 1 Barker/Royalton-Hartland on Friday at 7 p.m.
"All three phases played very well and that is key as we will need all hands on deck next week at Barker," Bodamer said. "We will be giving up at least 60 pounds per man on the offensive and defensive lines so we will have to do our best to give our guys the best chance possible at being successful."
