OLEAN -- Frewsburg/Falconer boasted a pair of individual winners at the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association girls swimming and diving championships, claiming the overall and Division 2 titles at the Olean Middle School pool on Friday evening.
Sydney Frederes won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.42, adding to Anelia Pitts' win in the diving competition earlier this week with 466.40 points. Rounding out the Top 5 in Division 2 are Salamanca with 373 points, Allegany-Limestone with 327 and Franklinville/Ellicottville/West Valley with 146 and Chautauqua Lake/Westfield at 50.
Emery Watkins was a double-winner to lead Panama/Maple Grove/Clymer/Sherman to the Division 1 championship.
Watkins won the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events with times of 2:03.81 and 5:39.15 and Panama/Maple Grove/Clymer/Sherman posted the high score of 372.
Southwestern/Jamestown finished second with 350 and was led by a pair of double-winners in Clarissa Hren taking the 200 individual medley (2:40.77) and 100 backstroke (1:01.13), while Annalisa Krug won the 100 butterfly (1:02.80) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.75). The Trojans also won the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay.
Olean/Portville came in third with 311 points and Fredonia/Dunkirk/Forestville/Pine Valley/Cassadaga Valley finished fourth at 175.
