The first-ever class of six inductees of the Cassadaga Valley Den of Distinction -- the late Joe Annarella, Paul Cooley, the late Donald Hanby, Patricia Ackley, William "Bill" Carlson and the late David Abram -- were honored at an inaugural ceremony at Front Porch Promise Farm in Cassadaga last Friday. The purpose of the Den of Distinction is to celebrate the achievements, leadership, character and service of individuals who have made a lasting impact on the Cassadaga Valley community and school. In the first row in the photo above, from the left, are Patricia Ackley; William "Bill" Carlson; and Brian Abram, son of David Abram. In the back row are Donna Comstock, daughter of Donald Hanby; Paul Cooley; and Erica (Annarella) Filipek, daughter of Joe Annarella. Inductees’ names, photos and stories are featured on a permanent Den of Distinction gallery wall at the school. Nominations for the next class open in December 2026.
