Lauer, Brautigam score goals for Fredonia

FREDONIA -- Thomas Lauer's goal from Oliver Rittenberg was enough to keep Fredonia ahead of Olean for a 2-1 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 boys soccer victory Monday at Fredonia State University.

Ben Brautigam opened the scoring from Hayden Babar in the 23rd minute and Luka Paoletta made six saves for Fredonia (6-5-1, 4-4-0).

Olean fell to 2-7-2 overall and 1-6-1 in league with the loss.

SWANSON HAS HAT TRICK

WESTFIELD -- Braylon Swanson netted a hat trick and added an assist as Westfield/Brocton beat Frewsburg 6-0 in Division III action at the NorthLake Family Recreation Complex.

Parker Gambino had two goals; Caleb Stoughton had one goal; Dawsen Gambino and Caleb Freifeld had two assists apiece; and Ayden Reese had one assist.

Nolan Anderson made nine saves en route to a clean sheet behind defenders Logan Baum and Noah Tuah.

On Senior Night, the Wolverines (11-1-0, 8-0-0) recognized Anderson, Baum, Parker Gambino and Tuah.

Bears (2-9-0, 1-7-0)

HORVATH NETS LONE GOAL

NORTH COLLINS -- Travis Horvath scored from Urijah Meredith in the 19th minute to lead Chautauqua Lake to a 1-0 shutout of North Collins in Division III.

Landon Emery made eight saves for Chautauqua Lake (5-4-2, 4-1-2).

North Collins fell to 4-4-3 overall and 3-4-1 in the league.

EAGLES HOLD OFF RANDOLPH

FRANKLINVILLE -- Tosh Klein had a goal and an assist for Ellicottville/Franklinville in a 2-1 Division II victory over Randolph.

Klein assisted on Holden Basher's goal in the 10th minute, then scored from Rian Johnson in the 69th minute for the Eagles (10-1-1, 7-0-1). George Dick made five saves in net.

Aydan Eccles scored from Gavin Senn in the 69th minute for the Cardinals (6-5-2, 5-3-0). Randy Nottingham made five saves in net.

PANTHERS TOP SALAMANCA

PORTVILLE -- Portville beat Salamanca 6-1 to improve to 6-2-3 overall and 6-1-1 in Division II play.

Andrew McCormick scored from Calum Farnum for the Warriors (5-7-0, 3-5-0). Cayden Lafferty made 22 saves.

CIEPLINSKI SCORES HAT TRICK

SOUTH DAYTON -- Nathan Cieplinski netted a hat trick as Cassadaga Valley/Falconer beat Pine Valley/Gowanda 4-0 in Division II play.

Jakob Huling had a goal and an assist; Kale Livengood had two assists; and Bentley Brown had an assist for the Golden Cougars (2-10-1, 2-7-0). Jackson Marsh made three saves en route to the clean sheet.

The Panthers fell to 0-11-0 overall and 0-7-0 in the league.

MAPLE GROVE BLANKS BLACK KNIGHTS

SILVER CREEK -- Aiden Dahlberg made four saves on his way to a clean sheet as Maple Grove shut out Silver Creek/Forestville 2-0 in Division III.

Dom Danielson scored from Nico Hernandez in the 33rd minute and Jack Reynolds tallied from Baker Johnson in the 77th minute for the Red Dragons (4-5-1, 3-4-0).

Aaron Cook made 10 saves for the Black Knights (4-7-1, 2-5-1).
