Randolph blanks Ellicottville in D2

RANDOLPH -- A pair of second-half goals sent Randolph past Ellicottville 2-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 girls soccer Thursday.

Elsie Freeman scored from Savannah Baker and Serena Smith scored from Kyler Patterson for the Cardinals (3-3-0, 3-0-0).

Stella Smith made two saves in net en route to the clean sheet.

The Eagles fell to 4-2-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the league.

WARRIORS SPREAD THE WEALTH

SOUTH DAYTON -- Ten players scored for Salamanca in an 11-0 Division 2 shutout of Pine Valley/Gowanda.

Addison Earley had two goals and two assists; Avianna Stahlman, Iliana Hostuttler, Presleigh Jimerson and Elizabeth Rozler each had a goal and an assist; Harper Ellis, Ireland Fidurko, Lailee Pierce, Ava Porter and Liana Jimerson each had a goal; Arleigh Chudy had two assists; and Delaney Haley and Lily Vogle each had an assist for the Warriors (4-1-0, 3-0-0).

Gwyn Emborsky made two saves en route to the clean sheet.

The Panthers fell to 0-5-0 overall and 0-3-0 in the league.

T'WOLVES GET BY FRANKLINVILLE

FRANKLINVILLE -- Gracie Huber and Leigha Spink scored second-half goals to send Cattaraugus-Little Valley to a 3-1 Division 2 victory over Franklinville.

Adele Canale scored in the first half for the Timberwolves (1-4-1, 1-2-0) and assisted on Huber's later goal.

Addison Chamberlain scored for the Panthers (1-4-0, 0-3-0).

Lucilyn Conklin made six saves in 60 minutes and Emma West made two saves in 20 minutes for Cattaraugus-Little Valley while Taylor Chase made six saves for Franklinville.

HONECK SCORES LONE GOAL

ALLEGANY -- Kennedy Honeck scored from Kendall Lemon midway through the first half to send Allegany-Limestone/Hinsdale to a 1-0 Division 1 victory over Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove.

Kenna MacArthur made two saves in 65 minutes and Meagan Morgan played the other 15 minutes in net for the Gators (6-1-0, 4-0-0).

Ellyson Baglia made seven saves for the Golden Cougars (4-1-0, 2-1-0).

COOK NETS ANOTHER ONE

MAYVILLE -- Abby Cook scored from Malayah Eldridge midway through the first half as Silver Creek/Forestville topped Chautauqua Lake 1-0 in Division 3.

Kendally Strychalski made two saves in net for the Black Knights (5-1-0, 2-1-0).

The Eagles fell to 2-3-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the league.

GARIEPY PUTS HOME OT WINNER

WEST ELLICOTT -- Grace Gariepy scored the game-winning goal in the third minute of overtime to send Portville past Southwestern 3-2 in Division 1 play at Charles A. Lawson Field.

Gariepy finished with two goals and eighth-grader Reagan Artlip also scored for the Panthers (2-3-0, 1-2-0).

Marlana Cresanti scored in the 23rd minute and Kenzie Rogers scored in the 75th minute for the Trojans (3-3-0, 2-2-0).

Kaylin Elliott and Hudson Forness-Thomas combined for seven saves for Portville while Braelynn Dykstra made six saves for Southwestern.

JAMESTOWN EARNS 1ST LEAGUE WIN

JAMESTOWN -- A three-goal first-half outburst led Jamestown to a 4-0 shutout of Olean in Division 1 action at Strider Field.

The Red & Green improved 2-4-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the league.

Alaina Hirliman made 10 saves for the Huskies (2-3-0, 0-3-0).
