Golden Cougars shut out Southwestern

FALCONER -- Kylie Kress scored twice and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove kept Southwestern off the board for a 2-0 shutout win in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 girls soccer action on Thursday.

Julianna Roth made both assists for Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove (7-1-0, 5-1-0), while Ellyson Baglia made five saves for the clean sheet.

Braelynn Dykstra had 3 saves for Southwestern (4-4-0, 3-3-0).

FREDONIA SURGES IN 2ND HALF

OLEAN -- Three second-half goals sent Fredonia past Olean 3-0 in Division 1 action.

Cece Tonelli scored twice and assisted a goal for the Hillbillies (5-3-0, 3-3-0), Mady Polhamus scored once and Callie Draggett assisted the first goal.

Alaina Hirliman made 21 saves for Olean (2-6-0, 0-6-0).

CARDINALS BLANK TIMBERWOLVES

CATTARAUGUS -- Elsie Freeman scored two goals and had an assist to lead Randolph past Cattaraugus-Little Valley 4-0 in Division 2.

Serena Smith added two goals for the Cardinals (6-3-0, 5-0-0) and both Harper Russell and Stella Smith tended goal for the clean sheet.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley falls to 2-5-1 overall and 2-3-0 in league.

FRANKLINVILLE ROLLS PINE VALLEY/GOWANDA

FRANKLINVILLE -- Mya Sullivan scored a hat trick and Franklinville rolled past Pine Valley/Gowanda 6-0 in Division 2.

Grace Cornell scored once and added two assists for Franklinville (2-6-0, 1-4-0), while both Addison Chamberlain and Emma Wilcox scored once each.

Pine Valley/Gowanda drops to 0-7-0 overall and 0-5-0 in league.

BEARS SHUT OUT DUNKIRK

FREWSBURG -- Audrey Eckwahl netted a hat trick and had an assist in Frewsburg's 5-0 win over Dunkirk in Division 3.

Charlie Lombardo had a goal and an assist for Frewsburg (7-2-0, 5-0-0), Jadyn Trocki dealt two assists and Grace Shelters scored once.

Celeste Batista made 22 saves for Dunkirk (0-8-0, 0-5-0).

LAKE FALLS TO NORTH COLLINS

NORTH COLLINS -- North Collins downed Chautauqua Lake 5-1 in Division 3 play.

North Collins defeated Chautauqua Lake to improve its record to 4-4-1 overall and 2-3-0 in league.

The Chautauqua Lake (2-5-1, 1-3-1) effort was led by Abigail Rizzo's goal assisted by Eleanor Pender.

BLACK KNIGHTS OUST WOLVERINES

SILVER CREEK -- Samantha Hogg/Timmermann scored twice to lift Silver Creek/Forestville past Westfield/Brocton 3-1 in Division 3 play.

Abby Cook had three assists for the Black Knights (7-1-0, 4-1-0) in the win, Malayah Eldridge scored the other goal and Kendall Strychalski had one save.

Addison Emery scored for Westfield/Brocton (2-4-1, 2-2-1) and Kylie Post provided 17 saves.
