Southwestern lets lead get away in draw with Dunkirk

WEST ELLICOTT -- Dunkirk rallied from a 2-0 second-half deficit to tie Southwestern 2-2 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division I boys soccer Wednesday at Charles A. Lawson Field.

Oliver Stump opened the scoring for the Trojans (5-3-1, 2-2-1) from Calvin Gesing with 6:41 left in the first half. After the break, Stump scored from Matthew Persia in the 53rd minute.

Brady Dobek and Roan Porpiglia scored for the Marauders (1-5-2, 0-3-2) while Dylan Ott made 13 saves in net.

JAMESTOWN DOUBLES UP HILLBILLIES

FREDONIA -- Dominick Jones had two goals and an assist to lead Jamestown past Fredonia 4-2 in Division I action at Fredonia State University.

Ali Alkharsan added a goal and an assist while Niam Rivera had a goal and Beckett Lumia had an assist for the Red & Green (4-4-0, 3-2-0). Jason Leenders made five saves in net.

Thomas Lauer scored in the 25th minute and Isaac Lamp scored from Ben Brautigam in the 70th minute for the Hillbillies (3-3-1, 2-2-0). Luka Paoletta made 11 saves in net.

FREIFELD POWERS WOLVERINES

WESTFIELD -- Caleb Freifeld had three goals and an assist to power Westfield/Brocton past Maple Grove 5-1 in Division III play at the NorthLake Family Recreation Complex.

Braylon Swanson had a goal and an assist; Caleb Stoughton chipped in a goal; and Ayden Reese had an assist for the Wolverines (8-0-0, 5-0-0).

Jack Bratton, Mike Cettell, Noah Tuah, Logan Baum and Kole DeGolier led a defensive attack that supported Nolan Anderson's seven-save evening in net for Westfield/Brocton.

Baker Johnson scored from Jack Reynolds for the Red Dragons (1-4-1, 1-3-0). Aiden Dahlberg made nine saves in net.

BLACK KNIGHTS BLANK NORTH COLLINS

NORTH COLLINS -- Ryan Cook scored the lone goal in the 74th minute as Silver Creek/Forestville beat North Collins 1-0 in Division III action.

Aaron Cook made eight saves in net for the Black Knights (3-4-0, 2-3-0).

Blake Schlenker made three saves for the Eagles (2-2-2, 1-2-1).

CHAUTAUQUA LAKE TOPS BEARS

MAYVILLE -- Travis Horvath had a goal and an assist to lead Chautauqua Lake past Frewsburg 3-1 in Division III.

Travis Horvath scored from Carter Crabtree in the 20th minute, Urijah Meredith scored from Travis Horvath in the 35th minute and Lucas Horvath scored from Landon Emery in the 79th minute for the Eagles (3-3-1, 2-1-1). Emery made six saves in net.

Jayden Burch scored in the 74th minute for the Bears (2-5-0, 1-3-0.

PORTVILLE ROLLS PAST GOLDEN COUGARS

PORTVILLE -- Colin German had three goals and an assist as Portville blanked Cassadaga Valley/Falconer 7-0 in Division II.

Rex Horsley, Garrett Reynolds and Nick Edwards each added a goal for the Panthers (2-2-2, 2-1-1).

The Golden Cougars fell to 1-6-1 overall and 1-4-0 in the league.

PIHLBLAD LEADS RANDOLPH PAST WARRIORS

RANDOLPH -- Isaac Pihlblad scored twice to lead Randolph to a 3-0 shutout of Salamanca in Division II play at Raymond Van Wie Stadium.

Pihlblad scored from Jaydan Champlin in the 39th minute as the Cardinals (5-3-1, 4-1-0) led 1-0 at halftime. After the break, Pihlblad scored from Aydan Eccles in the 41st minute and Grady Steward scored from Tanner Patterson in the 44th minute.

Gavin Senn made eight saves en route to the clean sheet while Cayden Lafferty made 11 saves for the Warriors (4-4-0, 2-3-0).
