FALCONER -- Dylan Newman ran 12 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns to lead Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove to a 41-0 shutout of East Aurora/Holland in nonleague football Friday at Bill Race Field.
Ethan Conti completed 6 of 9 passes for 89 yards while Kolden Raynor completed 4 of 5 passes for 54 yards. Colton Rhinehart caught two passes, one going for a touchdown, while Brody Hawkins also caught two passes for 69 yards and a touchdown to go along with a 70-yard kickoff return.
Patrick Braley and Jaxson Kraft had eight tackles and two sacks apiece for the Herd.
TITANS PUT TOGETHER HUGE 2ND HALF
FRANKLINVILLE -- Trailing 6-0 at halftime, Franklinville/Ellicottville outscored Southwestern/Frewsburg 26-0 in the second half for a 26-6 nonleague victory.
Brady Tatlow finished 11 of 21 for 108 yards and two touchdowns while Blake Smith ran 17 times for 166 yards and a score for the Titans.
Grayson Neal caught a 16-yard touchdown pass from Tatlow with 6:59 remaining in the third quarter to give Franklinville/Ellicottville the lead for good after the point-after kick. Tatlow's 1-yard touchdown run just 4 seconds into the fourth quarter made it 13-6 before Rylan Benjamin caught a 16-yard touchdown from Tatlow and Smith ran for a 70-yard score later in the final quarter.
Benjamin finished with four catches for 57 yards while Neal had three catches for 31 yards.
Defensively for the Titans, Mason Blecha and Dakota Smith each had two sacks, Benjamin added an interception, and Brodie Latimer had a sack.
"We were down 6-0 at the half. We had a sloppy first half and were grateful to be down one score due to our strong defensive play. The defense made several red zone stops throughout the game. The halftime adjustments were executed very well by the offensive unit," Franklinville/Ellicottville head coach Justin Tatlow said. "I am extremely proud of the entire team responding to the adversity in the first half and coming out to put together a much better second half. This was a great team win, and we are happy to have the athletes healthy and look forward to starting league play next Friday."
Drake Beckstrom ran for a 7-yard touchdown in the second quarter for the Trojans.
