The Wednesday Travel League held its 12th annual Ohio trip on July 28-29.

COLUMBIANA, Ohio -- On Tuesday, the 9th annual "Cousin Eddie Invitational" was held at The Links at Firestone Farms.
The winning two-man team (low net) was Robert Calph and Pat Weaver. In second place was the team of Jeff Nelson and Mike Willoughby. In third place was the team of Josh Hilliker and Jaime Galarza.
In the A Flight, Josh Hilliker set a new Cousin Eddie record for low scratch score, posting a 3-under par 69. The former record of 70 was held by Dave Wallace. Playing from the Black tees, Hilliker led both the front nine (37) and back nine (4-under par 32). Calph and Nelson finished second and third, respectively, in both scratch and net score. Untied birdies were recorded by 13-year-old amateur Carter Crabtree (No. 3) and Hilliker (Nos. 12, 14 and 17).
In the B Flight, Willoughby won the low net, followed by Bob Kujawa and Pete Pinkoski. Willoughby and Bill Emery tied for low scratch with 88. Pinkoski led the front nine with 43 and Kujawa led the back nine with 43. Untied birdies were recorded by Brady Hilliker (No. 13), Pinkoski (No. 14) and Frank Issler (No. 17).
Closest to the pin were: Josh Hilliker (No. 2), Jason Habich (No. 8), Pinkoski (No. 15) and Dave Franklin (No. 17).
The winner of this year’s prestigious "Cousin Eddie" Trophy was Josh Hilliker.

POLAND, Ohio -- The regular Wednesday Travel League event was held at Reserve Run Golf Course. Ed Tofil was the overall winner with the low round of 75. Jeff Nelson was second with 76. In a tie for third with 77 were Dave Franklin and Dave Wallace. Shooting 78s were Josh Hilliker, Robert Calph, Gary Haase, Jason Habich and Joe Michalski. Phil Hopkins shot 79. Wallace led the front nine with 36. Franklin, Hilliker, Haase and Bill Emery all shot 36s to lead the back nine.
Hopkins was the B Flight winner. In the C Flight, Don Kujawa won on a tiebreaker with John Waterman. The low round by a senior was recorded by Dennis Gawronski Sr. The winner of the Bruce "Java" Chrabasz Commissioner's Award was Brady Hilliker.
In a rare accomplishment, Joe Bifaro shot his age (89). Shooting new personal low rounds in league play were Franklin (77), Haase (78) and Hopkins (79). Hopkins also shot the lowest round ever recorded by a B Flight winner.
Untied birdies were recorded by: A Flight -- Josh Hilliker (Nos. 2 and 17), Franklin (No. 4), Habich (No. 8), Wallace (Nos. 9 and 15) and Nelson (No. 11); B Flight -- Hopkins (Nos. 4 and 5), Carter Crabtree (No. 7), Tom Sacilowski (No. 9), Bob Thompson (No. 15) and Mike Willoughby (No. 17); C Flight -- Waterman (No. 6), Gawronski (No. 7), Bob Kujawa (No. 10), Bill Lanski (No. 12), Emery (Nos. 14 and 16) and Bifaro (No. 15).
Closest to the pin were: Waterman (No. 2), Hopkins (No. 4), Habich (No. 8), Nelson (No. 11), Bifaro (No. 15) and Emery (No. 17). Winners of the Steeplechase were: Calph (A Flight), Hopkins (B) and Gawronski (C).
Josh Hilliker went over 3,500 career points and moved past John "Hot Dog" Tofil for eighth place on the all-time points list. Dave Wallace moved past Tom Destro and Lenny Leszkowicz into 19th place on the all-time points list. Phil Hopkins went over 1,000 career points.
Top point winners were: Hopkins (61), Josh Hilliker (56), and Nelson, Habich and Bifaro (all with 42). Season points leaders (after 13 events): 1. Josh Hilliker (383), 2. Sacilowski (232), 3. Nelson (202), 4. Hopkins (185), 5. Franklin (166), 6. Wallace (146), 7. Tofil (129), 8. Jeff Marsowicz (126), 9. Willoughby (124), 10. Bob Kujawa (109).
This week the league plays Cardinal Hills Golf Course in Randolph for its annual Red Shirt event. The first tee time is at 9:30 a.m. Only one opening exists at this time.
