13U TRAVEL BASEBALL
BUFFALO — Greyson Whitfield (Fredonia) allowed three hits through 6 2-3 innings and none of the three runs he allowed were earned as the Diamond Dawgs beat the North Buffalo Blaze 10-3 on Saturday at Shoshone Park.
The Blaze took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning before the Diamond Dawgs tied the game on Rylan Cambria’s (Fredonia) bases-loaded walk in the top of the fifth inning.
The Diamond Dawgs broke the game open with an eight-run top of the sixth. Huxley Hale (Falconer) led off with a single and Maxx Davis (Frewsburg) walked before Caden Lacki (Cassadaga Valley) reached on a fielder’s choice. After a flyout, Cory Troutman (Southwestern) hit an RBI fielder’s choice, Collin Bragg (Frewsburg) drew a bases-loaded walk, Curtis Spielman (Frewsburg) hit an RBI single and Cambria hit a bases-clearing three-run triple. The final run of the inning scored on Jackson Butzer’s (Frewsburg) RBI groundout.
Spielman finished with two hits, Lacki scored two runs and Troutman drove in two runs for the Diamond Dawgs.
DIAMOND DAWGS 10, ACADEMY STARS 8
FREWSBURG — The Diamond Dawgs led 5-0 early and held on for a 10-8 win over the Academy Stars on Wednesday.
Huxley Hale went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored; Collin Bragg tripled and scored twice; Rylan Cambria tripled and drove in a run; Greyson Whitfield singled and drove in two runs; and Cory Troutman, Curtis Spielman, Jackson Butzer and Caden Lacki each drove in a run for the Diamond Dawgs.
Cambria earned the win, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out eight and walking five in four innings of work. Spielman earned the save, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks.
DIAMOND DAWGS 5, NY STINGERS 4
CHAFFEE — The Diamond Dawgs took a 5-1 lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 5-4 win over the New York Stingers on Sunday.
Cory Troutman went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored; Colling Bragg and Huxley Hale each singled and drove in a run; and Greyson Whitfield, Caden Lacki and Lukas Youngberg (Falconer) each added a single and a run scored for the Diamond Dawgs.
Bragg threw a complete game, allowing four runs (one earned) and nine hits while striking out five and walking two to earn the win.
HAMBURG DAWGS 7, DIAMOND DAWGS 6
FREWSBURG — A single, stolen base, error and RBI single in the top of the seventh inning allowed the Hamburg Dawgs to get by the Diamond Dawgs 7-6 last Thursday.
Rylan Cambria went 2 for 4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored; Collin Bragg had two hits and two runs scored; and Curtis Spielman had two hits and a run scored for the Diamond Dawgs.
Bragg and Cambria combined on a seven-hitter with 10 strikeouts and five walks. Four of the seven runs they allowed were earned.
14U TRAVEL BASEBALL
The Lakewood Gladiators defeated Southern Tier Sluggers from Cuba 12-0, lost to South Buffalo 6-5 and lost to Central Amherst 11-4.
In the win over Southern Tier Sluggers, Andrew Cama pitched a no-hitter with eight strikeouts. Asher Stanton had a double, two singles and three RBIs; Collin Devlieger had a double and a single with an RBI; Blake Hill had two singles; Owen Walburg had two singles and an RBI; and Jerry Gassman, Austin Evans and Cama each added a single.
In the loss to South Buffalo, the Gladiators lost on a walk-off hit. Hill and Cama each had two singles; Hastings had an RBI single; Alexander Olson had a single; and Connor Devlieger and Walburg each had an RBI. Cama and Walburg combined for seven strikeouts on the mound.
In the loss to Central Amherst, Hill had a triple; Connor Devlieger had a double; Olson had a single and two RBIs; Landon Ko and Cama each had a single; and Gassman had an RBI. Connor Devlieger and Cama combined for eight strikeouts on the mound.
