NEW HARTFORD -- As the 2026 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League season now enters the final week, teams are making their final push to qualify for postseason play. The performance by these four players earned them Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards for Week 7. These awards take into account all of the stats for the games from July 13-19.
WEST DIVISION
A late addition to the Olean Oilers, Pitcher of the Week Henry Kite (College of William & Mary) has been lights out with a 0.79 earned run average in three games so far. Last week, he pitched on Monday against the Niagara Ironbacks in a 3-0 win for Olean. He went six shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out nine batters.
Player of the Week David Harris (Clarkson University) was on an 11-game hitting streak for the Niagara Falls Americans and has a .463 batting average this season. Last week, he hit .471 with two doubles, a triple, four RBIs and five runs scored. Last Monday, Harris went 3 for 5 with an RBI in a 13-12 win over Newark. On Tuesday, he went 2 for 4 with three RBIs in an 11-4 win over first-place Batavia and on Sunday he had a double and a triple in a 7-4 loss to Auburn.
EAST DIVISION
Pitcher of the Week Will Howard (Presbyterian College) appeared in two games for the Oneonta Outlaws last week, compiling a 2.00 ERA and recording 12 strikeouts over nine innings. On Tuesday, Howard started and threw four scoreless innings against the Boonville Lumberjacks, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out five in Oneonta’s 13-5 win. On Sunday, Howard faced the Lumberjacks again and earned his third win of the season as he pitched five innings, allowing two runs on six hits with three walks and struck out seven as the Outlaws won 10-2.
Saugerties went 3-1 this past week thanks in large part to the play of Player of the Week Nick Croce. While putting together a five-game hitting streak, Croce had a .750 batting average last week with three home runs, a triple, 11 RBIs and six runs scored. On Tuesday, Croce went 3 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs in an 8-7 loss to Amsterdam. On Wednesday, he went 2 for 3 in a 15-3 win over Glens Falls. Thursday’s game was his crowning moment. Croce reached base all five times, going 3 for 3 with an RBI single, the go-ahead three-run triple in the sixth and then a three-run home run in the ninth for a seven-RBI game in an 11-5 win over Oneonta. Finally on Friday, Croce homered and walked three times in a 15-7 win over Glens Falls.
