BUSTI — Cloudy, overcast skies provided a heavy and lightning-fast racing surface at Stateline Speedway on Saturday night, setting the stage for a spectacular evening of racing. Pro Stock competitors from far and wide descended on the historic Busti oval for the inaugural Dean Gibson Sr. Memorial, a massive $3,000-to-win headline event. The action-packed card was supported by the Super Late Models, RUSH Late Models, RUSH Pro Mods, RUSH Stock Cars and Challengers.

PRO STOCKS

DEAN GIBSON SR. MEMORIAL

Kyle Couchenour successfully defended his home turf in the 54-lap Dean Gibson Sr. Memorial, holding off a formidable roster of regional heavyweights that included Bobby Whitling, Chris Schneider and Brandon Connor, alongside local standout Matt Sampson. Rocketing from the outside pole, Couchenour maintained his advantage through a chaotic battle in lapped traffic. Schneider found late-race speed around lap 30 but was unable to complete the pass, forcing him to settle for runnerup behind Couchenour’s triumphant run.

SUPER LATE MODELS

Bob Dorman out-dueled Jason Genco in the late stages of the 25-lap Super Late Model feature to secure the victory. While Genco committed to the high side, Dorman utilized the bottom groove to his advantage, ultimately capitalizing on a few late-race mistakes by Genco to make the winning pass. Further back, Ryan Scott put on a show for the fans, slicing through lapped traffic as he marched his way toward the front of the field.

RUSH LATE MODELS

Jake Wilber delivered a masterclass performance in RUSH Late Model competition. After Kassie Norman secured her first career heat race victory, Wilber quickly navigated around her on the initial start. From there, he drove a flawless 20-lap race, successfully holding off Andy Michael to capture the checkered flag.

CHALLENGERS

Holden Heineman returned to his winning ways in the Challenger Division, fending off a strong challenge from Annaleesa Diabo. Diabo, who won her heat race earlier in the evening, secured a strong runnerup finish. Last week’s winner, Pete Volpe, rounded out the podium in third. Bryce Anderson earned hard charger honors, advancing five positions through the field to claim a fourth-place result.

RUSH PRO MODS

Veteran driver Al Brewer added another victory to his legendary career in the RUSH Pro Mod ranks. Brewer executed a late-race pass on Dean Ingalls to take the lead, and both drivers successfully held off Victor Earle Jr., who crossed the line to finish third.

RUSH STOCK CARS

In the evening’s nightcap, Raidden Wilson took top honors in the RUSH Stock Car feature. Wilson fended off a persistent challenge from Kaden Michael to secure the victory and close out the night’s racing action.
