Flyers gymnasts compete at states

Flyers Gymnastics competitive team members recently attended their respective state meets. Every Flyers team member qualified for states.

Sophie Johnson in the Senior D Division at Xcel Platinum won the New York state bars championship with a score of 9.525. She also placed eighth on vault and fifth in all-around with a 36.90.

Olivia Swanson in the Senior B Division grabbed a second-place silver medal on floor, third-place bronze medal on beam (9.5), fifth on vault, ninth on bars (8.85) and fifth in all-around (36.90). This all-around score also qualified Swanson for regionals in Massachusetts where she will compete against other gymnasts from Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Vermont.

In Xcel Platinum Child E Division, Claire Thompson and McKenna Hart tied for the third-place bronze medal on bars with 9.525s.

Ava Johnson in the Senior D Division grabbed sixth on beam (9.075), seventh on floor (9.05) and eighth in all-around (34.975).

Madilyn Walker in the Senior B Division earned ninth place on floor (9.2).

Ruthie Barber in the Junior A Division grabbed seventh on vault (8.8).

Cameron Case in the Senior C Division earned seventh on beam (9.225).

High school senior and Xcel Gold gymnast Erinn Sluga competed in her last state meet of her gymnastics career. She grabbed an 11th place on floor (9.075) and was also awarded with a senior gift at the state meet from New York and USA Gymnastics for her commitment and dedication to the sport of gymnastics.

Xcel Gold Isabella Constantino in the Junior G Division grabbed 11th place on vault (8.725), seventh on beam (9.225) and a 35.85 all-around score.

Courtney Kujawa earned seventh place on bars (9.225) and a 35.175 all-around score.

At Xcel Silver Senior G Division Molly King earned a 13th place on floor (9.425) and a 37.425 all-around score.

Anastazia Morris in the Senior D Division grabbed 11th place on floor (9.425) and a 37.125 all-around score.

At Level 4 Junior D Division, Sloane Siggins grabbed a third-place bronze medal on bars (9.65) and a sixth place on floor (9.4).

Olivia Kehrli in the Senior D Division earned fifth on beam (9.45) and a 36.30 all-around score.

Anna Thompson in the Junior A Division won fifth place on vault (9.175), eighth on bars (9.3) and sixth on floor (9.35).

Presley Durnell in the Senior C Division took sixth on beam (9.55) and Brynn Butzer in the Junior C Division scored a personal best on bars (9.3).
