10U TRAVEL BASEBALL

The Lakewood 10U Gladiators (2-0) pounded out 17 hits in their 17-1 victory over the Jamestown Knights on Sunday afternoon at Roseland Park.

Leading the Gladiator offense was Griffin Beaver (Randolph) with three hits and four runs scored; Declan Winchester (Lakewood) with three hits and three runs scored; Carter Skoglund (Lakewood) with two hits, including a double, and six RBIs; Mason Brown (Lakewood) with a double and an RBI; and Luke Winchester (Bemus Point) with a double and an RBI.

Four pitchers for Lakewood (Skoglund, Easton Smith of Frewsburg, Beaver and Brown) combined to allow one hit and one unearned run, while striking out eight in the five-inning contest.

Sawyer Anderson was the starting pitcher for Jamestown, striking out three in three innings of work.

The Gladiators return to action next weekend with a tournament in Amherst.
