10U TRAVEL BASEBALL

The Lakewood 10U Gladiators collected 10 hits, committed no errors, gave up only two hits and scored in every inning in their 18-6 win over Orchard Park White at LaGrega Field in Lakewood on Sunday.

Leading the offensive outburst for the Gladiators were Finn Ristau (Warren) with two hits and two RBIs; Carter Skoglund (Lakewood) with two hits, including a double; Mason Brown (Lakewood) with a double; and Luke Winchester (Bemus Point) with a triple and two RBIs. Leadoff hitter Conley Green (Ashville) and No. 2 hitter Griffin Beaver (Randolph) paced the potent attack, scoring three runs apiece.

Starting pitcher Skoglund, and relievers Easton Smith (Frewsburg), Ristau and Beaver combined for 10 strikeouts, four walks and two hits allowed. The Gladiators’ solid pitching performance was bolstered by a stellar defense that committed no errors.

The victory improves the Gladiators Premier League record to 3-0 and 4-2 overall. The team’s next game is May 31, home against the North East Grape Smashers.

MINORS DIVISION

True Value took down Lewis & Lewis 5-3.

Leading True Value was Landon Conti with seven strikeouts on the mound and a triple at the plate. Ari Genco pitched in with five strikeouts on the mound and a double of his own at the plate. Sam Johnston added two hits while Bryson Stone, Eli Rodriguez and Jordan Berg all had one.

For Lewis & Lewis both Dominick Penhollow and Garrett Benson got two hits, including a double.

Ball Game Heroes earned a 7-2 victory over Lewis & Lewis.

Pitchers Izyk Pacheco, Joey Paterniti and Easton Nary combined for an impressive performance on the mound, striking out 12 batters in the win.

Offensively, Izyk Pacheco and Paterniti each collected two hits to lead Ball Game Heroes. Oliver Fisher, Karzyn Pacheco, Mateo Rodriguez and Orion Hitchcock added one hit apiece.

For Lewis & Lewis, Owen Johnson, Dominick Penhollow and Drew Braverman each contributed a hit in the effort.
