Southwestern Central School senior wrestler Tavio Hoose has been named co-recipient of the 2026 Richard “Pete” Hausrath Division II Outstanding Wrestler Award by the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Hoose shares the honor with Christopher Noto of Honeoye Falls-Lima High School and is one of six high school student-athletes from across New York state selected for special recognition this year.

The honorees will be recognized during the chapter’s annual Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony Sept. 27 in East Syracuse.

According to the Upstate New York Chapter, the awards recognize distinguished wrestling careers while also honoring student-athletes for their leadership, sportsmanship, academic success and contributions as ambassadors for the sport.

Hoose capped off an outstanding high school wrestling career by earning another state championship before preparing to continue his wrestling career at the NCAA Division I level with Lehigh University. He was also recently named the 2026 Post-Journal/OBSERVER Boys Wrestler of the Year.

The Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognizing excellence in wrestling, preserving the sport’s rich history in Upstate New York, and inspiring future generations of student-athletes.
