Stenstrom Powers Falconer Past North Collins

NORTH COLLINS — Erik Stenstrom went 4 for 4 with two home runs, three RBIs and three runs scored to power Falconer past North Collins 5-2 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 baseball Saturday.

Isaiah Washington two hits, including a home run, and two runs scored for the Golden Falcons (7-3, 7-3). Chase Bianco earned the win on the mound, scattering eight hits while striking out three and walking two.

Walter Ebersole had two hits, including a double, while Manny Colon also had two hits for the Eagles (4-11, 4-7). Karter Bartholomew and Jon Rice combined for five strikeouts on the mound.

WESTFIELD 10-RUNS BULLDOGS

WESTFIELD — A five-run third inning and seven-run fifth inning sent Westfield to a 12-2 win over Brocton/Cassadaga Valley in five innings of Division 2 play.

Nolan Anderson went 2 for 3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored; Joey Russo singled, drove in three runs and scored twice; Leseano singled, drove in a pair of runs and scored a run; and Grant Beadle singled, drove in two runs and scored a run for the Wolverines (6-3, 6-3).

Joel Stein allowed three hits and two runs while striking out seven and walking seven on the mound for Westfield.

Nick Sweet and Tanner Olmstead each had a pair of hits for the Bulldogs (7-4, 6-2).

BLACK KNIGHTS HOLD OFF SALAMANCA

SILVER CREEK — A three-run fourth inning gave Silver Creek/Forestville enough of a cushion to hold on for a 5-4 Division 1 win over Salamanca.

Noah Hodkin was hit by a pitch and Manny Sanchez walked before Damon Bell reached on an error to score Hodkin and tie the game at 3-all in the fourth. Ryan Skinner followed with a two-run double to make it 5-3.

The Warriors’ Payton Bradley was hit by a pitch with one out in the seventh inning and eventually scored to make it 5-4, but a popout to the Black Knights catcher with runners on first and third ended the game.

Skinner doubled twice and drove in two runs while Bell drove in three runs for Silver Creek/Forestville (7-5, 5-4). Manny Sanchez struck out five in seven innings before Collin Morabito got the final six outs, including a pair of strikeouts.

Nolan Seeley had two hits for Salamanca (7-8, 1-7). Calum Farnum and Parker Stahlman combined for seven strikeouts on the mound.

ELLICOTTVILLE NO-HITS T’WOLVES

ELLICOTTVILLE — Rylan Benjamin and Carson Mendell combined on a five-inning no-hitter as Ellicottville blanked Cattaraugus-Little Valley 19-0 in Division 3 action.

A.J. Myers homered, drove in three runs and scored twice; Benjamin went 3 for 3 with a triple, five RBIs and three runs scored; Cameron Mendell was 2 for 3 with an RBI and three runs scored; and Parker John went 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored for the Eagles (9-4, 6-4).

Benjamin struck out nine and walked one in four innings on the mound.

For the Timberwolves (0-11, 0-9), Noah Ulinger had two strikeouts on the mound.

FRIDAY

KOSINSKI STYMIES CARDINALS

RANDOLPH — Portville scored single runs in the first and third innings, which proved to be enough offense to beat Randolph 2-1 in Division 3 play Friday.

Dylan Chudy hit a two-out triple and scored on Jo Dieteman’s RBI double in the first inning for the Panthers (5-7, 4-7). In the third, Aidan DeFazio singled with one out, went to third on Chudy’s single, and scored on Ty Kosinski’s sacrifice fly.

The Cardinals (10-3, 9-2) scored their run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Gavin Senn and Kevin McElwain hit back-to-back singles with one out before moving up on a wild pitch. Senn was then thrown out at home for the second out of the inning, but McElwain eventually scored on Laiden Wojtowicz’s RBI infield single.

Kosinski earned the win on the mound for Portville, scattering seven hits while walking seven and striking out four. DeFazio had two hits, including a double, while Chudy also had two hits.

Aidan Taylor took the loss for Randolph, scattering six hits while striking out 12 and walking just one. McElwain and Bryson Pitts each had a pair of hits.
