Jamestown Suffers Road Loss To Clarence
CLARENCE — Matt Weber collected four hits including a double, scored three times and had an RBI to lift Clarence past Jamestown 9-4 in Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 action.
The Jamestown (4-9, 2-6) effort was led by Julian Jackson who doubled and scored, while Carter Rizzuto, Ryan Engquist and Alex Alvira each had a single and an RBI. Engquist took the loss with three innings pitching with three strikeouts and a walk, Karson Milned worked two innings and had two strikeouts and three walks and Jordan Thompson gave a walk during his lone inning on the mound.
Logan Bickell picked up the win for Clarence (4-8, 2-6) going six innings with four strikeouts and three walks.
BLACK KNIGHTS TOP FREDONIA
SILVER CREEK — The pitching combination of Ryan Skinner and Hunter Anderson combined on a six-hitter and struck out nine to lead Silver Creek/Forestville to a 6-3 victory over Fredonia in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 baseball game Friday.
Skinner helped his own cause with a double and three RBIs, helping the Black Knights raise their record to 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the division.
Fredonia’s Brady Crawford collected a pair of hits, and Pauly Tabone and Henry Conroy — who shared the pitching duties — and Rocco Muscarella smacked doubles.
The Hillbillies are now 7-5 overall and 5-5 in the division.
DRAGONS WIN PAIR
BEMUS POINT — Will Bryant collected three hits and drove in three runs to lead Maple Grove to a 12-5 Division 2 victory over Pine Valley.
Ezekiel Padd, Kyle Yohe and Gavin Darr chipped in doubles to support pitchers Bryant and Avery Garrett, who combined to strike out seven and walk three. The win improved the Red Dragons to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the division.
For the Panthers (2-10, 1-8), Camryn Slade and Landon Reger (double) both had three hits, and Liam Bradigan and Caden Herman had two apiece.
On Thursday, Darr tossed a one-hitter, struck out 11 and walked one as the Red Dragons shut out the Panthers 13-0 in five innings.
Padd and Aiden Dahlberg both had two hits for Maple Grove.
Hayden Chase recorded the lone hit for Pine Valley.
