10U TRAVEL BASEBALL

The Lakewood 10U Gladiators opened their 2026 Season with a 9-2 victory over the visiting NY Stingers Black (1-1).

Starting pitcher Carter Skoglund (Lakewood) allowed one hit, struck out six and gave up one unearned run in three innings of work. Winning pitcher Theo Melquist (Frewsburg) pitched the final three innings allowing a double and striking out four while allowing an unearned run.

Collecting hits for the winners were CJ Green (Ashville) with a double, Ryan Butzer (Frewsburg), Luke Winchester (Bemus Point) and Melquist. Catcher Finn Ristau (Warren) played solid defense, and scored two runs for the Gladiators (1-0).

Lakewood’s next game is May 2 at North East.
