Southwestern Shines At Maryvale Invite

CHEEKTOWAGA — Southwestern had a number of athletes shine at the Maryvale Invitational on Friday evening.
Mikayla Johnson shined the brightest.
The senior thrower won both the discus (131-11) and shot put (38-6) while her junior teammate Juliet Genareo was second in the discus (102-0) and fourth in the shot put (27-6).
Senior Tyler McIntyre won the boys discus (152-6) and was second in the shot put (46-4.25).
Junior Marlana Cresanti won the 400-meter dash in 1:00.61 and took third in the 100-meter dash (13.06).
Cresanti’s senior teammate Tryniti Card won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:34.15.
Senior Leo Kavic won the boys shot put at 49 feet, 3 inches and was third in the discus (124-6).
Senior Jason Edwards was fourth in the discus (119-11) and fifth in the shot put (41-1.5) while fellow senior Calvin Salisbury was fifth in the discus (115-11) and seventh in the shot put (38-0).
