17-Hit Attack Sparks Fredonia Past Southwestern 13-6 In Division 1

WEST ELLICOTT — Naomi Muck had four of Fredonia’s 17 hits in a 13-6 Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 softball win over Southwestern on Friday.
The Hillbillies scored in their first five trips to the plate and led 12-1 after the top of the fifth inning, but the Trojans (2-3, 2-3) prevented the mercy rule by scoring five times in the bottom of the fifth.
Muck doubled, drove in a pair of runs and scored three times; Callie Draggett was 3 for 3 with four runs scored; Jenna Fryberger went 3 for 5 with a double, two triples, five RBIs and a run scored; Alanna Delcamp had two hits and an RBI; Isabella Buckley went 2 for 4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored; Gia Muscarella was 2 for 3 with an RBI; and McKella Hodkin tripled and scored twice for Fredonia.
Delcamp threw a complete-game eight-hitter with seven strikeouts and three walks in the circle.
For Southwestern, Madi Burnett went 2 for 3 with a home run and two runs scored while Arianna Silakowski, Katelyn Casel and Lily Williams-Jones each doubled.

Silakowski and Burnett combined for eight strikeouts and five walks in the circle.
SILVER CREEK JUMPS AHEAD EARLY
RANDOLPH — Eight runs in the first two innings turned out to be enough for Silver Creek in an 8-4 Division 3 win over Randolph.
Kyla Ziegler doubled with one out in the first inning and Maddy Blair walked with two outs before Hein’s two-run single to right field.
In the Black Knights’ second inning, Priya Sakpal reached on an error and Ava Zahm walked before Alexis Wicks’ one-out RBI single. Rhyana Willis followed with an RBI double, Ziegler singled and Rylee Weiskerger hit a two-run double. Blair continued the uprising with an RBI double and Madisen Hein hit an RBI single to make it 8-0.
The Cardinals (2-3, 1-2) got a run back in the fifth inning and then scored three times in the bottom of the seventh, but Blair struck out the final Randolph hitter with a runner on first base to end the game.
For Silver Creek (4-1, 3-1), Hein was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Ziegler was 2 for 4 with two runs scored.
Blair allowed four runs (one earned) on nine hits and a walk while striking out five in the circle.
For the Cardinals, Peyton Roberts was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored while Grace Arnold-Hill was 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Arnold-Hill struck out seven in five innings of one-hit scoreless relief.
DONATO HAS BIG DAY FOR DUNKIRK
JAMESTOWN — Dunkirk jumped ahead 12-0 in the top of the fourth inning and held off Jamestown for a 14-7 Division 1 win.
Ryleigh Donato led the Marauders (2-5, 1-3) with four hits, including a double, five RBIs and a run scored. P Perry added two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored while Gracie Grann chipped in a double. Dunkirk batters were hit by seven pitches, led by Grann, who was hit three times.
Chloe Degnan had two hits, drove in a run and scored a run while Riley Johnson drove in a pair of runs for the Red & Green (0-5, 0-4).
THURSDAY
HILLBILLIES PITCH PERFECT AGAINST RED & GREEN
FREDONIA — McKella Hodkin and Cara Harrington combined for a perfect game from the circle as Fredonia dominated Jamestown 21-0 in five innings of Division 1 action Thursday.
The explosive Fredonia (4-1, 4-1) offense was highlighted by a 3-run home run by Callie Draggett, Jenna Fryberger went 2 for 2 with a three-run double, and both Bella Buckley and Anna Delcamp collected two hits.
Emily Maggio was the losing pitcher for Jamestown (0-4, 0-3).
