Mays, McIntyre Double For The Boys At Dunkirk Invite; Johnson, Cresanti Pace Girls

DUNKIRK — Nathan Mays put on quite a show at the Dunkirk Invitational on Friday night.
The Silver Creek/Forestville senior won the boys long jump at 22 feet, 3.25 inches and also took first in the high jump at 6 feet, while taking third in the 110-meter hurdles.
Southwestern’s Mikayla Johnson was equally impressive for the girls. The Trojans senior won both the shot put and discus with tosses of 38 feet, 10.25 inches and 128 feet, 5 inches, respectively.
Another Trojan, Marlana Cresanti, was also a double winner in the girls 200 meters (26.25) and 400 meters (58.93).
Johnson’s Southwestern teammate, Tyler McIntyre, was equally impressive in the boys throwing events winning the shot put at 48 feet, 5.75 inches and the discus at 146 feet, 1 inch.

Silver Creek/Forestville’s Sam Bowers won the 100 meters in 11.28 seconds and took third in the 200 meters.
Dunkirk’s Hanan Mohamad Narvaez won the girls 2,000-meter steeplechase in 7:43.67 and finished second in the 800 meters.
Other local winners in the boys events were: Maple Grove’s Ethan Verbosky in the 1,600 meters (4:30.14), Jamestown’s Beckett Lumia in the 400 meters (49.70), Frewsburg’s Noah Erickson in the 400-meter hurdles (57.60) and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Max Parmentier in the pole vault (11-6).
Silver Creek/Forestville’s Molly Shaw won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.80, Fredonia’s Alessandra Bugaj claimed the triple jump (33-8.75) and Falconer/Cassadaga Valley’s Mary Lundmark captured the pole vault (10-6).
Frewsburg’s Cole Vaughn, Lucas Randolph, Henry Eckert and Noah Erickson also won the boys 1,600-meter relay in 3:32.87.
