Jamestown, Falconer Suffer Final Losses In South Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. — Jamestown found an offensive rhythm again on Friday in South Carolina, but it was not enough to overcome Sherman, West Virginia in a 14-4 defeat in 6 innings at the South Atlantic Bank Invitational at Conway High School on Friday.

Luke Tagliente paced Sherman going 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs, two runs scored, a home run and a double.

Jamestown’s effort was led by Julian Jackson with an RBI triple and a run scored, Karson Milne knocked in a run, scored and had a single and Ryan Engquist provided an RBI single. Carter Rizzuto took the loss for the Red & Green after 2 2/3 innings of work, Maddox Thompson pitched an inning and Alex Alvira finished the game.

The Red & Green return home on Tuesday at the Martin Road Athletic Complex.

TYLER 1, FALCONER 0

LITTLE RIVER, S.C. — Tyler scored the lone run of a 1-0 decision against Falconer in the first inning of South Atlantic Bank Invitational action at North Myrtle Beach High School.

Falconer outhit Tyler with singles from Gavin Curtis, Colton Rhinehart, Erik Stenstrom and Griffin Knopp. Chase Bianco gave up just two hits and one unearned run in the start for Falconer, while Stenstrom finished the final four innings giving up just one hit and striking out seven.

Brennon Miller earned the win for Tyler with a complete game shutout, giving up just the four hits, striking out nine and walking four. Patrick Jones, Brayden Neff and Sawyer Kunkle registered the hits for Tyler.

Falconer returns to the north with a game at Cattaraugus-Little Valley on Wednesday.

THURSDAY

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. — Falconer struggled for offense in an 11-0 loss against CVHHA in the South Atlantic Bank Invitational at St. James High School on Thursday.

Errors doomed Falconer early as CVHHA built a 2-0 lead on errors and never looked back. Dalton Reynolds earned the win on the hill surrendering just four hits to the Golden Falcons in five innings of work.

Falconer was led by Erik Stenstrom going 2 for 2. Gavin Curtis earned the start and gave up no hits over two innings, but saw two unearned runs cross home plate, struck out four and walked three batters.
