Gornikiewicz Shoots 77 At Jackson Valley GC
WARREN, Pa. — Adam Gornikiewicz shot the low round of 77 at Jackson Valley Golf Course, earning his second career Wednesday Travel League victory and first since 2018.
Josh Hilliker was second with 79 and Ed Tofil was third with 81. Gornikiewicz and Hilliker led the front nine with 38s and Gornikiewicz led the back nine with 39.
In the B Flight, Mike Willoughby was the winner after a tiebreaker with Phil Hopkins and Tom Destro. The low round by a senior was recorded by Tony Destro. The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Tim Walawender.
United birdies were recorded by: A Flight — Hilliker (Nos. 7, 17), Bob North (No. 8) and Tom Sacilowski (No. 16); B Flight — Tony Destro (No. 1), Pete Pinkoski (No. 4), Gary Haase (Nos. 5, 16), Hopkins (Nos. 11, 18), Willoughby (No. 12), Tom Destro (No. 14) and Walawender (Nos. 15, 17).
Closest to the pin were: Tofil (No. 6), North (No. 8) and Hilliker (Nos. 12, 15). Winners of the Steeplechase were: Gornikiewicz in A Flight and Hopkins in B Flight.
