Golden Falcons Pound Out 18 Hits, Remain Unbeaten At 4-0; Lyon Powers Wolfpack

CATTARAUGUS — Falconer racked up 18 hits and stormed past Cattaraugus-Little Valley 20-1 for a Division 4 victory.
Getting in on the fun for the Golden Falcons (4-0, 2-0) were Payton Smith, going 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs; Emily Zaranek, who went 4 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs; Emily Rhinehart, who went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs; Hannah Melquist, who went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs; Khloe Livengood, who added three RBIs; and Mylie Zaranek, who provided another two RBIs.
Rhinehart and Smith combined for six strikeouts in the circle.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-4, 0-2) got on the board in the fourth inning when Madison Rogan drove in Riley Preston after she got in scoring position with a double. Preston was the losing pitcher.
HORNETS STING PINE VALLEY
FORESTVILLE — Carilene Sliwa went 3 for 4 with two doubles and three runs scored to lead Forestville past Pine Valley in Division 3.
Emily Lillie provided three RBIs for the Hornets (2-1, 2-0), both Ava Schwerk and Ellie Bellis added an RBI and Liz Case picked up the win in the circle with 11 strikeouts and gave up just three hits.
Pine Valley (0-3, 0-2) was led by Carlie Ward with a double and a run scored. Madilynn Robertson suffered the loss in the circle giving up nine hits and struck out three.
GATORS BLANK SOUTHWESTERN
ALLEGANY — Kailey Truman gave up just one hit and struck out five batters as Allegany-Limestone shut out Southwestern 15-0 in Division 1 action.
Riley Sudbrook smashed two inside-the-park home runs for Allegany-Limestone (5-1, 4-0).
Kate Casel had the lone hit for Southwestern (2-5, 1-2) while Arianna Silakowski took the loss.
FRYBERGER HITS GRAND SLAM
FREDONIA — Jenna Fryberger’s grand slam in the top of the seventh inning put a punctuation mark on Fredonia’s 13-3 Division 1 win over Dunkirk.
Alanna Delcamp, Ava Muck and McKenna Crawford each had two hits for the Hillbillies (3-1, 3-1).
Delcamp and McKella Hodkin combined on a six-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the circle for Fredonia.
Grace Kozlowski and Gracie Grann each had two hits with Grann contributing a double for the Marauders (1-4, 0-2).
Gabby Grann allowed seven hits in six innings in the circle, striking out three for Dunkirk.
WEISKERGER POWERS BLACK KNIGHTS
SILVER CREEK — Rylee Weiskerger went 2 for 4 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored to lead Silver Creek past Brocton 10-1 in Division 3.
Alexis Wicks went 3 for 3 with one run scored for Silver Creek (3-0, 2-0). Rhyana Willis went 2 for 4 with three runs scored, while both Kyla Ziegler and Maddy Blair scored twice.
Blair also earned the win in the circle with just four hits against and nine strikeouts.
Brocton (1-3, 0-1) received two hits apiece from Paige Miller and Victoria Battaglia, while Navaeh Hebner took the loss in the circle.
WOLFPACK DOWNS MAPLE GROVE
BEMUS POINT — Elli Bodamer struck out nine batters, walked one, hit another and surrendered just five hits as Clymer/Sherman/Panama defeated Maple Grove 9-2 in Division 2.
Jessica Lyon led the Wolfpack (2-0, 2-0) offense, going 3 for 3 with two doubles and three runs scored. Addie Wiggers finished 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs; Kiera Loberg went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs; and Bodamer connected for a two-run single.
Meg Ryan took the loss for Maple Grove (1-3, 0-1) after striking out three, walking eight and giving up 10 hits. Singles by Alex Halstrom and Dani Trim were followed by RBI singles from Ryan and McKenzie Anderson.
CORBETT DRIVES IN 5 FOR WESTFIELD
WESTFIELD — Arielle Corbett went 3 for 4 with a double, five RBIs and three runs scored as Westfield beat Cassadaga Valley 16-3 in six innings of Division 2 action.
Mackenzie Schumaker was 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs scored; Avery Smith was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a double; Annabelle Thies hit an RBI double; and Molly Burgess was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Wolverines (1-3, 1-2), who collected 11 hits as a team.
Smith tossed a six-hitter with seven strikeouts in the circle.
Mia Fanara went 3 for 3 with two doubles and Anna Burlingame also doubled for the Cougars (0-2, 0-2).
KOTA HAS BIG DAY FOR GOWANDA
GOWANDA — Addison Kota tossed a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts to lead Gowanda to an 11-1 Division 3 win over Randolph.
Kota also went 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored at the plate for the Panthers (2-2, 1-1). Jenna Luther and Alayna Fish each added two of Gowanda’s 11 hits and both drove in a pair of runs.
Grace Arnold-Hill struck out seven in the circle for the Cardinals (1-2, 0-1). Peyton Roberts and Ryanne Bushey each doubled in the loss.
EAGLES ROLL BY FREWSBURG
MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Lake racked up 11 hits and defeated Frewsburg 14-1 in Division 2 action.
Makenna Ryberg went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for Chautauqua Lake (4-0, 3-0). Karagan Fairbank provided a triple and two RBIs; Alice Scarpine went 2 for 3 with two RBIs; and Kinslee Motter, Lucy Gates and Macy Ulsh provided two RBIs apiece.
Alexis Szumigala secured the win after three innings of work and two strikeouts and two hits against.
Frewsburg fell to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in league.
PANTHERS SHUT OUT NORTH COLLINS
NORTH COLLINS — Ella Warters struck out eight batters and gave up just four hits as Portville shut out North Collins 10-0 in Division 4.
Warters also provided a double and a triple at the plate for the Panthers (3-2, 1-2) with two RBIs and three runs scored. Bella Morales scored another three runs and went 3 for 4 with three RBIs; Madison Ford scored three runs with a double and a triple; and Lauren Lyle tripled.
Lily Montaldi hit a double for North Collins (1-3, 0-2).
EAGLES SOAR
FRANKLINVILLE — Katie Lafferty went 3 for 3 at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored, then struck out 12 batters in the circle as she helped Ellicottville secure a 11-2 Division 4 win over Franklinville.
Teaghan Finn added a double for Ellicottville (5-1, 3-0), while Ady Andrews went 3 for 4, and Riley Whitmer, Ande Northrup and Keira Baldwin scored two runs apiece.
Franklinville fell to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in league play.
