Dunkirk Scores Early, Often In Division 1 Win Over SC/F

SILVER CREEK — Aries Cheverez had two hits and four RBIs as Dunkirk beat Silver Creek/Forestville 18-3 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 baseball Monday.

Dunkirk (6-1, 3-1) went ahead 3-0 in the second inning as Ryan Kinney hit an RBI single, Cheverez walked to force in a run and Anthony Cosme hit a sacrifice fly.

The Marauders added nine runs on eight hits in the top of the fourth inning. Kinney and Cheverez hit two-run singles, Anthony Piede, Dylan Ott and Josh Lemanski hit RBI singles, Cosme drew a bases-loaded walk, and another run scored on an error.

Six more runs scored in the fifth inning. Jayden Neallard, Evan Dolce and Patrick Sheehan drew bases-loaded walks, Cheverez hit another two-run single, and Alex Biscaro hit an RBI single.

Lemanski and Biscaro combined on a five-inning no-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

The Black Knights fell to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the league.

OLEAN NO-HITS FREDONIA

OLEAN — Austin Miles and Landon Johnson combined on a six-inning no-hitter with eight strikeouts as Olean topped Fredonia 10-0 in Division 1 action.

Miles hit an RBI single during a four-run second inning and added a two-out, three-run home run in the fourth inning.

Alex Jones, Dominick Myers and Gehrig Perry each had two hits for the Huskies (6-1, 5-1).

Matt Cowan reached base twice and stole a base for the Hillbillies (6-2, 4-2).

STEIN TOSSES GEM FOR WESTFIELD

WESTFIELD — Joel Stein tossed a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts while walking just one as Westfield blanked Maple Grove 6-0 in Division 2.

The Wolverines (4-2, 4-2) had just three hits offensively, but took advantage of five walks, a hit batter and six Red Dragons errors.

Logan Baum singled and drove in two runs, Trent Ramm singled, drove in a run and scored a run, and Grant Beadle also singled and scored a run for Westfield.

Gavin Darr had two hits, including a double, while Ezekiel Padd also doubled for Maple Grove (3-4, 2-2). Aiden Dahlberg struck out nine in five innings of work on the mound.

CROWELL HAS BIG DAY AT PLATE

BROCTON — Jackson Crowell went 3 for 5 with two doubles and five RBIs to lead Brocton/Cassadaga Valley past Pine Valley 19-2 in Division 2.

Ray Santiago went 4 for 4 with four RBIs and a run scored; Nico Blattenberger was 3 for 3 with an RBI and three runs scored; and Anthony Gatto was 2 for 3 with an RBI and four runs scored for the Bulldogs (4-3, 3-1).

Blattenberger and Nick Sweet combined for nine strikeouts on the mound in the win.

Caden Herman had the lone hit for the Panthers (2-6, 1-4).

BIANCO SAVES FALCONER WIN

PORTVILLE — Liam Sharpe allowed six hits and two runs (none earned) while walking one and striking out nine in 6 1/3 innings as Falconer edged Portville 3-2 in Division 3 play.

Chase Bianco got the final two outs, including a strikeout, while stranding the bases loaded to earn the save.

The Golden Falcons (4-2, 4-2) took a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Conner Brently singled to lead off the inning, went to third on an error and scored on Griffin Knopp’s sacrifice fly. Colton Rhinehart, who reached on the error, later scored on Sharpe’s RBI groundout.

Falconer’s insurance run in the top of the seventh inning came when Logan Johnson drew a bases-loaded walk to score Isaiah Washington, who was hit by a pitch with one out.

Ty Kosinski had two hits for the Panthers (3-5, 2-5). Aidan DeFazio struck out eight in 5 2/3 innings on the mound.

GOWANDA BREEZES PAST EAGLES

NORTH COLLINS — Aiden Geiger went 3 for 4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored to lead Gowanda to an 11-1 Division 3 win over North Collins.

Kyan Austin also went 3 for 4 with two runs scored; Seth Geiger went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored; and Carter Capozzi doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run for the Panthers (7-2, 7-0).

Seth Geiger struck out five in five innings before Noah Lauer got the final six outs with a pair of strikeouts for Gowanda.

Vince Montaldi went 2 for 2 with a walk for the Eagles (2-8, 2-4). He also struck out five in five innings on the mound.

CARDINALS NEVER LET UP

RANDOLPH — Randolph scored in its first five trips to the plate en route to a 10-4 Division 3 victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley.

Laiden Wojtowicz went 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored while Bryson Pitts and Jack Haines doubled for the Cardinals (8-1, 7-0).

Preston Swan, Gavin Senn and Hunter Foster combined on seven strikeouts in the win.

Theron Crawford and Trenton Wulf had hits for the Timberwolves (0-7, 0-6).

BENJAMIN DOES IT ALL FOR EAGLES

ELLICOTTVILLE — Rylan Benjamin threw a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and two walks to lead Ellicottville to a 9-1 Division 3 win over Franklinville.

Benjamin helped his own cause with two hits, including a double, two RBIs and two runs scored; Sawyer Miller had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored; and Grayson Neal doubled for the Eagles (7-2, 4-2).

Brendan MacWilliams and Eli Shenk singled for the Panthers (0-8, 0-7).
