Berg Lifts JHS To Victory
Kinsley Berg’s 11-yard touchdown run with under a minute remaining lifted Jamestown to a 32-25 victory over Lockport in a Section VI Division 1 flag football game at Strider Field on Tuesday night.
Berg finished with 100 yards rushing, including a 70-yard scamper, on eight carries and two TDs; Payton Gibbs completed all six of her pass attempts for 91 yards and two TDs and rushed for 41 yards on seven carries; and Kiarelis Brito ran for 100 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown scamper, one of her two TDs on the evening.
Defensively, Keylianis Torres and JaLeiya Glover had seven flag pulls apiece; Brito had six; and Gibbs had five to go along with three interceptions.
The win improves the Red & Green’s record to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the division, while the Lions drop to 3-2 and 1-2.
Jamestown returns to action at 6 p.m. Thursday when it entertains Buffalo Public Schools at 6 p.m.
