Falconer Returns From Spring Break With 12-3 Win Over Maple Grove

BEMUS POINT — Emily Rhinehart tossed three no-hit innings, striking out eight while walking one to jump-start Falconer to a 12-3 nonleague softball win over Maple Grove.

Hannah Melquist led the Golden Falcons (2-0) on offense with three hits, including a two-run home run, and finished with four RBIs. Rhinehart added two hits, including an RBI double; Rachael Swanson had three RBIs; and Giada Schauman had two hits.

Payton Smith threw the final three innings in the circle for Falconer, allowing six hits.

Meg Ryan tossed three innings, allowing two hits while striking out two and walking two before Megan McGee threw the final four innings, giving up four hits and walking five in the circle for the Red Dragons (0-2).

Bry Cornell, Ryan and Savannah Weart all doubled for Maple Grove. Savannah Rambacher added two singles. The Red Dragons scored all three of their runs in the fourth inning.

HEBNER TOSSES

NO-HITTER FOR BROCTON

BROCTON — Nevaeh Hebner tossed a no-hitter for Brocton to secure an 11-1 nonleague softball victory over Cattaraugus-Little Valley on Monday.

Hebner struck out five batters and walked just two for the Bulldogs. Brocton (1-1) was led offensively by Paige Miller going 4 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs; Victoria Battaglia drove in three runs; and Sophia Hamlet went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Madison Rogan recorded nine strikeouts for Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-2) in the circle and Ana Howard scored the only run after reaching base on an error.
