Sherman’s Ferranto Named CCAA Division 2 Player Of The Year

Jacob Ferranto turned in an outstanding senior season for Sherman boys basketball coach Cory Emory.

The senior was recognized for his accomplishments by being selected the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 2 Player of the Year.

Joining Ferranto on the First Team were three seniors, a junior and a sophomore.

The seniors were Michael Horton of Panama, Grant Beadle of Westfield and Carson White of Clymer; the junior was Caleb Cook of Sherman; and the sophomore was Aiden Dahlberg of Maple Grove.

Named to the Second Team were seniors Asher Olson of Chautauqua Lake and Liam Colburn of Maple Grove; juniors Joey Abuhmeidan of Chautauqua Lake and Roman Wassink of Clymer; and sophomore Braylon Swanson of Westfield.

Following are the honorable-mention selections: senior Anthony Gatto, Brocton; seniors Nick Jacobson and Trent Houser, Chautauqua Lake; sophomore Liam Price, Maple Grove; sophomore Konnor Morgan, Panama; senior Troy Chambers and junior Gabe Kopta, Sherman; seniors Lincoln Thomas and Brayden Paddock, Westfield; and senior Kameron Einink and juniors Blake Beckerink and Elijah Mitchell, Clymer.

Emory was named the division’s Coach of the Year, and Mitchell, representing the Pirates, was the recipient of the Team Sportsmanship Award.
