The Randolph Central School cheerleaders wrapped up another successful year, continuing a tradition of spirit, dedication and competitive excellence. Known for the incredible energy they bring to Randolph’s home football and basketball games, the Cardinals help create an electric atmosphere that fuels both athletes and fans.
While many recognize the cheerleaders for the enthusiasm they bring to the sidelines, the RCS cheer program also competes in seasons of its own during the fall and winter.
During the fall, the Cardinals competed in several game-day cheer competitions. Game-day cheer focuses on skills used on the sidelines, including crowd-leading, band chants and situational cheers that recreate the excitement of a real game atmosphere. The team had an outstanding fall season, finishing as the CCAA Game Day League Champions in the Class C Division for the third year in a row. The team went on to the Section VI championship and placed fourth in the Class C Division.
In the winter, the Randolph competitive cheerleading squad had a dynamic and memorable season, competing with determination and pride every step of the way. The athletes worked hard, supported one another and represented Randolph with incredible spirit throughout the season.
The team captured first place at the CCAA Competitive Cheer League Championship, earning the title of Class D league champions for the fourth time. Building on that success, the Cardinals went on to claim the Section VI Class D Championship for the third consecutive year, an impressive accomplishment that reflects the continued growth and dedication of the program.

“Our athletes showed tremendous commitment and heart this season,” said head coach Abbie Shevlin. “They pushed themselves every day in practice and supported one another through every challenge. Watching their growth as athletes and teammates has been incredibly rewarding.”
The season concluded at the New York State Championship, where the Cardinals finished eighth out of 10 teams in the Class D division. Competing at the state level is a tremendous honor, and the team proudly represented Randolph among the best programs in New York.
This season also marks the graduation of the seniors who have meant so much to the Randolph program: They are captain Alyia Oliverio, Mara Harvey, Grace Benson, Erin Sluga, who competed during the fall game-day season, and Mia Olofson, who was honored with the Sportsmanship Award at the state competition.
Each of these seniors has given an incredible amount of time, dedication and heart to the team. They have worked hard not only to improve their own skills, but also to help build a strong future for the program by setting the standard and pushing their teammates to be their very best. Their leadership and impact will continue to be felt in the seasons ahead.
