Stam Shines As Jamestown Tops Maple Grove 66-36

Aiyanna Stam scored 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds and collected 10 steals, and Anna Engquist added 15 points to lead a balanced attack as Jamestown upended Maple Grove 66-36 in a nonleague girls basketball game Wednesday night.
The Red & Green led 42-21 at halftime and 61-30 after three quarters en route to raising their record to 11-8, heading into their regular-season finale today at West Seneca.
“It was the best game of Aiyanna’s young career,” Jamestown head coach Ken Ricker said. “We had 10 girls score in the game. It was a great effort by all.”
The Red Dragons (9-11) were led by Alex Halstrom with 14 points and Bry Cornell with 10.

FREDONIA — Four players scored at least 8 points as Fredonia ended its regular season with a 45-39 nonleague win over JFK.
Madelyn Polhamus had 10 points and eight rebounds; Juliana Snyder had 10 points; Bella Buckley had 8 points, eight rebounds and five assists; and Cece Tonelli had 8 points and six steals for the Hillbillies (10-10).
Nevaeh Gonzalez led the Bears (8-12) with 13 points and Liana Christian had 12.
