Randolph Rolls Portville In Division 3

RANDOLPH — Freshman Ava Sears scored a career-high 29 points to go along with seven steals and four assists as Randolph beat Portville 69-38 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 3 girls basketball Thursday.

Sears scored 8 points during a 17-8 first quarter before senior Gianna Bowles scored 10 of her 15 points during a 17-7 second quarter as the Cardinals (12-5, 5-3) led 34-15 at halftime.

Bowles finished with 10 assists, nine steals and six rebounds while Tessa Brown had 8 points and seven steals in the win.

Ali Haynes led the Panthers (10-7, 3-5) with 15 points and Emma Rhinehart had 13.

FALCONER HOLDS ON VS. FREDONIA

FREDONIA — A strong second quarter was enough for Falconer as it held on to defeat Fredonia 42-39 in Division 1 action.

Falconer (7-13, 4-8) was led by Ellyson Baglia with 12 points.

Juliana Snyder paced Fredonia (8-10, 4-8) with 12 points and three steals, Bella Buckley collected six rebounds and Nora Polhamus made three assists.

SLIWA SCORES 41 FOR HORNETS

FORESTVILLE — Carilene Sliwa scored 41 points and made 13 steals to lead Forestville past Cattaraugus-Little Valley 77-22 in Division 4 action.

Elizabeth Case also had a double-double with 25 points, 14 rebounds and four steals for the Hornets (11-4, 7-2), while both Ingrid Gibson and Jazmyn Bertino grabbed seven boards apiece.

Cattaraugus-Little Valley (6-12, 3-7) was led by Kylie Unruh with 6 points.

MAYVILLE — Emmersen Crawford scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out four assists and made two steals as Sherman rolled past Chautauqua Lake 50-18 in Division 2.

Ava-Kay Irwin added 11 points for Sherman (9-8, 8-3). Baya Oehlbeck scored 10 points while adding three assists and three steals, and Jayne Chambers grabbed six rebounds.

Chautauqua Lake (10-9, 5-7) was led by Karie Tarr with 11 rebounds and Addison Chess had 10 rebounds.

BEARS FINISH PERFECT D3 SEASON

FREWSBURG — Jadyn Trocki had 16 points, eight assists, five steals and five blocked shots as Frewsburg wrapped up a perfect Division 3 season with a 64-34 win over Cassadaga Valley.

Jaden Jimerson had 15 points and seven rebounds; Elysse Gruber had 8 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots; and senior Abery Harvey — the Bears’ (15-4, 8-0) lone senior — had 10 points and five rebounds in the win.

Breonna Hopkins led the Cougars (10-6, 4-4) with 14 points and 13 rebounds while Maddie Debo had 8 points, five steals and four rebounds. Alexis Pattyson chipped in 9 points.

CLYMER — Elli Bodamer had 11 points, including three 3-pointers, to go along with seven rebounds as Clymer beat Maple Grove 36-31 in Division 2.

Alyssa Pratt chipped in 10 points; Hannidy Goetzinger grabbed 11 rebounds; and Addi Wiggers had four steals for the Pirates (6-11, 4-7).

Bry Cornell led the Red Dragons (9-10, 5-7) with 15 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and two blocked shots.
