Pair Of P/C/S Swimmers Earn Top Seeds At Class C Preliminary Races

CHEEKTOWAGA — A pair of Panama/Clymer/Sherman swimmers earned top seeds for today’s finals at the Section VI Class C boys swimming and diving preliminaries Thursday at Maryvale High School.

Junior Kody Howard will be the No. 1 seed in a pair of events while freshman Evan Conklin earned a top seed and a No. 2 seed.

Howard earned the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.19 seconds while senior teammate Gavin Krasa was fourth with a time of 23.82 seconds.

Howard also earned the No. 1 seed in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.80 seconds.

Conklin earned the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.11 seconds while also earned the No. 2 seed in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:14.51. Junior Ryan Smith earned the sixth seed with a time of 2:36.08.

Freshman Flynn Fadale earned the No. 5 seed in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:06.38.

Three Panama/Clymer/Sherman relays also earned top-eight seeds for today’s finals, which begin at 10 a.m. back at Maryvale High school.

The 400-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relays both earned No. 2 seeds. The medley finished in 1:50.73 while the freestyle finished in 3:40.11. The 200-yard freestyle relay earned the fifth spot with a time of 1:44.85.
