Jamestown Coasts Past Frontier 60-21
HAMBURG — Jamestown limited Frontier to two first-half field goals en route to a 60-21 Erie County Interscholastic Conference Division 1 boys basketball victory Monday night.
Elijah Farmer led the way for the Red & Green (10-4, 7-1) with 17 points, including 14 in the first quarter when he drilled four 3-pointers. He also collected eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals, while Gavin Johnson added 16 points and four assists.
Jamestown, which was playing without Dominic Gonzalez — “He was just banged up a bit and wanted to rest him for Wednesday,” head coach Billy Miley said — led 33-4 at halftime and cruised to the win.
As a team, the Red & Green shot 24 of 51 from the floor, including 11 of 21 from the arc, compared to 9 of 47 for the Falcons (4-11, 0-7).
After the break, Miley made liberal use of his bench and, by game’s end, nine players had scored.
The Red & Green’s next game is Wednesday when they travel to Orchard Park. The Quakers handed Jamestown its only division loss 70-60 at McElrath Gymnasium on Jan. 16.
