LEWIS HAS CAREER NIGHT

FREWSBURG — On Senior Night, Trent Lewis scored a career-high 31 points to go along with four steals, four assists and three rebounds as Frewsburg beat Portville 68-58 in Division 3 play.

The Panthers (6-11, 5-4) led 32-31 at halftime on the strength of eight first-half 3-pointers. Aidan DeFazio hit four and Kaleb Foster hit three.

But the Bears (8-10, 5-4) won the second half 37-26. Lewis scored 11 of his points and Isaac Hultberg had 6 during the third quarter.

Sophomore Drake Beckstrom had a career-high 13 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and four steals; Hultberg had six assists, four rebounds and two steals; and Gavin Weaver and Xavier Munday had seven rebounds apiece for Frewsburg.

CATTARAUGUS — Bransen Gabel scored on a putback as time expired to send Cattaraugus-Little Valley past Ellicottville 49-47 in Division 4 play.

The Timberwolves improved to 13-4 overall and 7-2 in league play with the victory. A win Friday at Forestville would split the league title with the Hornets.

Tucker Barrick led Cattaraugus-Little Valley with 14 points, Nyquon Boswell had 12 and Owen Wright had 10.

The Timberwolves led 32-19 at halftime before being outscored 28-17 in the second half.
